xTuple Open Source ERP featured in "Innovations" TV Episode on Technology Solutions

NORFOLK, VA

Exploring the latest breakthroughs in sustainable technology and manufacturing solutions

xTuple is proud to announce being showcased in the 2017 season of the award-winning nationally televised series Innovations with Ed Begley, Jr.

Initial air dates include:

  • Fox Business on Saturday, April 15 at 5:00 p.m. ET (nationwide)
  • Discovery TV (regionally) Northeast and Southwest on Friday, April 14, and again on Monday, April 17, at 8:30 a.m. local time

Much like its definition: to grow; to increase exponentially, xTuple's mission is to help companies of all sizes successfully implement powerful, and easy-to-use, open source Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to grow their business profitably. The Innovations segment will explore xTuple’s integrated website technology, designed to help manufacturing businesses evolve for the digital age. The show will highlight how xTuple helps develop business-to-business (B2B) eCommerce strategies for new customer growth, and will educate about its business management software, which provides growing companies all over the world control over their operations and profitability.

“Technology continues to advance the business landscape. From large-to-small companies, technology is creating more efficient ways to manage the way companies operate,” said Michael Devine, senior producer for the Innovations Series. “We look forward to educating the public on the amazing things taking place across this space.”

To film the segment, Innovations’ production company first traveled to Las Vegas in Fall 2016 to interview xTuple’s Wally Tonra, vice president of sales, and Josh Fischer, xTupleCommerce product manager, as well as Vivek Gupta, president of The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association, International®, at the association’s annual FABTECH Expo, North America's Largest Metal Forming, Fabricating, Welding and Finishing event.

The segment also features a behind-the-scenes customer testimonial by Metro Chicago-based April McKnight, purchasing manager for multi-location Cordeck, a full-service manufacturer of corrugated steel deck, In Floor Cellular Raceway Systems, flashing, trim and other building construction accessories.

“With xTuple ERP, everything has a one-piece flow — from quotes to sales to production to invoicing — everything flows so it has basically cut our time in about half to process all of those orders, which has allowed us to be more effective in getting and closing jobs," said April McKnight of Cordeck Building Solutions during her interview.

Others highlighted in the segment include:

  • Busch Systems, a company which designs, recommends, and customizes waste and recycling solutions for collection programs across all industries.
  • SMC³, a company dedicated to providing data-centric solutions that support shippers, carriers, logistics service companies, and technology providers; driving efficiencies across the supply chain by simplifying LTL rate complexity and logic; providing access to the most accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date transit detail; facilitating the price negotiation and bidding process; and accurately classifying freight in a flash.
  • Atlantic Combustion Technologies, a company focused on cost reduction and emissions abatement with solutions to stem ash agglomeration in a broad range of combustion environments. Their rare CoMate® Ash Modifier technology, which couples “green” benefits with cost reductions, lowers emissions, while simultaneously reducing operating costs well beyond the cost of the technology itself.

In advance of the air-date, xTuple released a 30-second spot which will air in select markets and is available online via xTuple ERP's YouTube Channel.

After its initial airing on TV, the full episode will also be made available online and via social media, including Google Video, Vimeo, YouTube and Facebook, as well as for purchase on DVD on the Amazon Marketplace. Distribution will also include Voice of American TV (VOA) and a listing on IMDb, the Internet Movie Database.
